about

VINYL IS ALL GONE!!! Sorry

****************************************************************************

"This is so cool. 'Big Shadow' sounds like the Jesus And The Mary Chain playing the Bikini Kill song 'Feels Blind.' It's blown out in a basement punk band style yet remains super melodic, reminding me of JAMC at their most rudimentary, or even the Ramones where the punk masks a perfect sincere pop song. I think they might be influenced by East Bay pop punk and say...early Vivian Girls!? But something about the tremulous, sincere yet awkward recording takes it somewhere else. Then the B-side is even more blown out, total basic rudimentary punk with dreamy melodies in the under currents, and so good too...total Ramones meets Dangerhouse Records frenzy. Usually when people liken bands to the Ramones it means the band is well versed in terrible pop punk with no imagination on show, but this band really reminds me of listening to early Ramones live recordings. That blast off feeling of 'is this gonna fall apart' and 'how the fuck did they write a better pop song than the Beatles ever did and yet they are gonna collapse before the song is over.' I mean this band isn't that cool, nobody is, I don't mean to get yer hopes up that much. But they bring to mind such feelings and ideas and comparisons on this recording at least. Totally recommended." (LG)

"Right off the bat, I want to listen to this band because I have no idea what in the hell to expect from a band called Sneeze Attack. Side A is a slower song that runs along the same bass line. It works, though. While the basic core of the song doesn’t change at all, it stays interesting: the bass chunks along and the guitars have some slow melodies over top of it. I’m a sucker for anything bass-driven. The flip side is a lot faster and a lot more traditional pop punk like super early Ramones. I feel like these guys could play a show with The Sonics and fit right in. The recording is raw and really gives the whole record a throwback feeling because of the simple melodies and grainy recording. Everyone seems to be a little off time with each other, but it sounds all right and definitely gives it a sort of character that just makes it fun. I really enjoyed this 45. It’s good to hear people just playing some fucking punk and having fun." (JM)
